Let’s Celebrate!

There are countless reasons to celebrate; birthdays and anniversaries, graduating from school, welcoming a new baby into the world, calling a new place home, and all sorts of personal accomplishments. A common thread for celebration is walking over a threshold, and spending a little sweet, sacred time in the liminal space where the cycle of completion meets the new beginning.

Reflecting on the Past…

After doing four retreats together, Kimee and I decided we needed some time to pray and dream of what the future would hold for us. Our previous retreats were extensions of each of us that melded together to create something beautiful and unique for our retreat participants. Kimee brought her passion for the church calendar, rooting into the seasons through practices like yin yoga, and her naturally welcoming persona that makes you feel like you’re the most important person in the room. I brought my passion for a theme that is woven throughout a period of time together, asking questions and intentionally setting aside time for deep reflection, and an eye for detail to make the little things happen behind the scenes to show another style of care. As we honed our strengths and admired how we filled the gaps in our skill sets, we decided we wanted to ‘get serious’ about this thing— if we are going to offer retreats, let’s REALLY offer retreats.

Dreaming with God…

As we gathered together and shared our dreams, where our hearts were at, and where we felt Spirit stirring, we stood at the threshold of completion; the four varying retreats we had done together over the year were done, we felt the stirring to continue, and that meant closing the chapter of our first year together. As you move from one place to another, the threshold we stepped through was the creation of Wild Sanctuary Retreats; a host name for what we do that speaks to our values, our connection, our faith, and our desire to let God be our sanctuary space.

Branding was designed, a website was lovingly made, and, like we do with thresholds, we wanted to celebrate what has been and all that is to come with Wild Sanctuary Retreats!

Let’s Celebrate!

Our first ever Mini Retreat, Yoga & Flowers, is our celebration of Wild Sanctuary Retreats.

A morning of community connection, yoga, contemplation, spending time in nature picking flowers and making bouquets, delighting in sweet snacks, is how we are choosing to celebrate with you, our beloved community.

On Saturday, September 13th, we’ll gather under the shade of a magnolia tree while Kimee guides us through a nourishing slow flow yoga practice. This lovely yoga practice will be followed by a visio divina contemplative practice that I am so excited to guide you through using flowers at the farm. Present, filled with intention, and feeling grateful for the harvest of late summer, you’ll roam the fields and snip your favourite blooms. A quick clean of the stems, and you’ll go from garden to vase with a stunning arrangement to take home to remind you of the beauty of harvest, the fullness of late summer, and how gratitude can be an anchor in every season.

Mini Retreat, Big Celebration, Open Invitation…

This event is a mini retreat, meaning it gives you a little taste of what our half-day, full-day, and overnight retreats are like! It’s yoga and contemplation, community, connection with God, self, others, and the earth, embodied faith, and, what ties them all together, belonging. No matter where you find yourself in life stages and ages, faith convictions or questions, you are welcome here to explore what it’s like to be held for exactly who you are— one who is always and forever loved by God.

We cannot wait to celebrate with you— to move, to breathe, to laugh, to connect to the earth, to spend special moments with God, and to enjoy the prayerful act of creating bouquets. Learn more and register by clicking HERE! Please, bring your friends, invite your small group or bible study, pack the car with your sisters, mom, cousins— let the women in your life know they are deeply and wildly loved by the same God who created each and every flower with perfect care and heartfelt love.
